Social media promotes small businesses

Business owners are always looking for promotion ideas and Main Street has a seminar scheduled for 5 p.m. Thursday at the Civic Center to help entrepreneurs.  Russ Altman from the Texas Tech Small Business Development Center will demonstrate how to use social media to promote your business featuring Facebook, Twitter, websites and newsletters.  Many merchants are using at least one of these media and have seen increased business as a result.  We will have snacks and look forward to your participation in this opportunity.

Another special event will take place at the Opera House on February 13th. An Evening of Elegance will begin with dinner at 5:30 p.m. in a romantic Valentine atmosphere, followed by a performance at the Opera House.  The performance lineup will be featured next week, but we can promise that it will be a memorable evening.
