Wolves prove to be too much for Ballinger
The Wolves improved their district record to 5-2 when the Ballinger Bearcats came to town on February 5.
Colorado City got off to a slow start only scoring 2 pts in the first 5 minutes of the game, but the Wolves settled down and led after the first period 11-7. During the 2nd period, Ballinger pulled to within 1 point but the Wolves were able to take a 19-18 lead into halftime. The 3rd period was close, the Wolves extended their lead to 35-28 in the final period. The Wolves outscored the Bearcats 15-13 in the final period and won the game 50-41 to go to 5-2 in district play.
Leading scorers for the Wolves were: Ronald Aoyama 13 pts, Derek Gainey 12 pts, Tyler Higgins 8 pts, Eli Farrell 7 pts, Nick Reyna 4 pts, J.C. Johnson 4 pts, and Tylor Lorenz added 2 pts.
The Wolves won’t play at home again until February 16 when Jim Ned comes to town.
