Wildcats participate in Cougar Relays
The Westbrook Junior High and High School Wildcats traveled to Klondike to participate in the Cougar Relays on March 4, 5.
For the junior high boys, Jahari Vanover placed 1st in shotput (35’ 6 1/2”), 3rd in long jump (14’ 6 1/2”), 1st in 100 Hurdles (20.24), and 1st in the 300 Hurdles (49.77).
Jacob Morris placed 5th in the long jump (14’ 2”), 5th in the high jump (4’4”), 2nd in the 800 (2.34.09), 5th in the 1600 (6.08.20), and 6th in the 100 (13.96).
Trevor Lamb placed 3rd in the 400 (1.11.26).
The junior high girls came out strong with Chelsey Lamb placing 1st in the shotput (26’ 9 3/4”) and 5th in the discus (54’ 4 1/2”).
Madison Anderson placed 2nd in the triple jump (25’ 10 1/4”), 2nd in the long jump (12’ 3/4”), 3rd in the 100 (15.33), and 3rd in the 200 (32.10).
Kaylea Holbrook placed 2nd in the 1600 (7.02.31) and 6th in the 800 (3.05.95).
Courtney Stinson also placed 5th in the 2400 (13.32).
Westbrook varisty’s Richard Nelson started the day off placing 1st in the long jump (17’11”), 6th in the 100 (12.46), and 6th in the 1600 (5.55.47).
Dylan Fulton also placed 6th in the long jump (16’11”).
The Lady Wildcats came out strong with Emily Harkins winning the discus (90’6”). Kenzey Morris placed 1st in the 300 Hurdles (54.02), 2nd in the 100 Hurdles (18.4), 6th in the triple jump (27’ 10 3/4”), and 6th in the long jump (12’ 5 1/2”).
Reanna Krapf placed 2nd in the 200 (31.12) and 4th in the long jump (12’ 9 1/4”).
Hannah Berber placed 5th in the 800 (3.07) and 6th in the 1600 (7.38.94).
Chelsea Martinez also placed 5th in the 300 Hurdles (61.68).
Both Lady Wildcat teams will compete in a track meet in Jayton on March 11, 12.
